Dr. Julia Roper-Walker is a native of Alcoa, Tennessee. She is the founder of “Seasoned with Salt Ministries” and a devoted servant of God with a lifelong commitment to ministry, education, and leadership. She is the younger of two daughters born to Elder Julius Roper and the late Sister Jeanette Williams Roper. Raised in the Church of God in Christ from birth, Dr. Roper-Walker was nurtured in a rich spiritual heritage. One of the most cherished aspects of her childhood was ministering through music—singing, playing the piano and organ, and traveling alongside her father on the evangelistic field.
In 1997, Dr. Roper-Walker received her Evangelist Missionary License under the leadership of the late Elder Donald Lee Derrickson, Sr., longtime pastor of Greater First Church of God in Christ in Knoxville, Tennessee. This milestone marked the formal beginning of her dedicated service in ministry.
Dr. Roper-Walker’s passion for nurturing and developing others extends beyond the church into the field of education. After earning her degree in early childhood development from Maryville College in 2009, she began her career as an educator. Committed to academic excellence and leadership, she later earned a Master of Education in Administrative Leadership from Bethel University and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Today, Dr. Roper-Walker finds great fulfillment in ministry through speaking engagements, workshops, teaching, and mentoring educators, equipping others through meaningful professional development and faith-centered leadership.
Dr. Roper-Walker faithfully serves as the First Lady of New Vision Ministries Church of God in Christ of Alcoa, Tennessee, where her husband, Elder Joel Emerson Walker, is the pastor. Together they are the proud parents of four children: Caleb, Gabrielle, Derek, and L’oreal.
